The influx of cutting-edge technologies such as GenAI into HR underscores their potential to revolutionize talent management. Although these technologies and flexible HR strategies have positioned HR to embrace change, many organizations still falter in executing change initiatives successfully.

The SHRPA Global Research Report 2024 found, among other key challenges, 64% of companies across APAC and Middle East are set to miss out on HR transformation, if it’s not people-centric and tech-enabled.

As part of our SHRPA Success Navigator: Leadership Interview Series, we talked with Ravi Kumar, Chief People Officer at Page Industries to find HR can overcome change execution barriers and improve its implementation strategies for 2025.

In our conversation, Ravi highlights that ‘trust deficit’ — the gap between promises of HR tech solutions and end-results— often is a core problem that hampers HR’s change execution capabilities. And it is by improving and tackling this trust deficit, especially with newer technologies like AI that HR can make change execution successful.

Other key highlights of our conversation include:

  • HR today stands at the unique position of leading cross functional collaboration to partner for better change management
  • There is a need for HR to better align their people processes with business priorities.
  • A modular approach to HR transformation is key to its success. Implement one module and learn what works best for further implementation.
  • Technologies like AI, and especially Gen AI, are here to stay.  But it’s necessary for HR to connect it to impact on people and business to ensure its right application.
